| Welcome to Knockabout Toys. Each truck is individually handcrafted at our shop in Searsmont, Maine. Made with precision and care each truck is made to last for a lifetime of play. This season the shop offers four different styles of wooden trucks and equipment to choose from: the ever-popular Big and Little Rig line, the Executive Line, featuring vehicles designed with a higher level of detail and our personalized Custom trucks, made to your specifications. |
| Big and Little Rig Line Built and designed for the younger truck driver. Each truck is built one at a time at our toy shop in Searsmont, Maine. Handcrafted with a combination of pine, birch, oak and maple from local sawmills and recycled lumber. Assembled with wooden pegs and glue; no metal parts to worry about. The Big and Little Rigs are protected with a water-based, child safe finish. Crafted with care and precision they are made to last for a lifetime of play. |
| Executive Line and Custom Line Designed and crafted for the experienced driver. The Executive Line represents larger, fine-detailed trucks patterned after the actual rigs and heavy equipment seen on highways, roads and job sites. Constructed from select cuts of oak, maple and walnut, each vehicle has an extensive list of details on both interior and exterior. Featuring walnut grills, CB radio, steering console, dashboard, walnut bucket or bench seats, 2 ¾ maple wheels, mud flaps, wooden engines and working hydraulics on the heavy equipment models (Back Hoe and Bulldozer). Knockabout Toy’s Executive trucks take you out on the road. The Custom Line is personalized for the individual. Past examples built to customer specifics include: Peterbilts with livestock trailers, Caterpillar D9 Dozers, Mack Dump trucks, Kenworths with a van trailers and Farm Tractors. We can also craft any rig combination that you may think of. Please send or email a photograph of your rig or machine and we will discuss how to reproduce it in wood. |
| The Green Farm Tractor Constructed of maple, cherry, and walnut hard woods. Details include: clutch, gas and brake pedals, realistic engine components, headlights, walnut seat, walnut radiator, and realistic treads on the rear wheels. Finished with hand rubbed Danish Oil. The detail shown in this tractor is a tribute to the American farming heritage. |
